COKATO, Minn. — The leaves have begun to change, and the air is filled with the scent of pumpkins. As we sit back and think of summer, the consensus is “it went fast!” Now we are rushing around getting fall projects done and thinking about Halloween and Thanksgiving.

We just finished the fall festival at Temperance Corner with a good turnout. FinnFest was a few weeks ago. I enjoy FinnFest — not just the classes but the music. We are fortunate that we have so many talented Finnish musicians, writers and poets.

The painting of the inside of the hall is finished, the pictures, and rya rugs are back up plus things are put away until spring. The yard work still needs some freshening up. It was decided to do maintenance on the ditches in the spring.

A Linden tree has replaced the tree that died by the schoolhouse. The school bell ringing at the fall festival was a hit for those who had gone to a one-room schoolhouse. They remembered, as a lot shared, that it was a privilege to ring the bell.

The Fungus Amongst Us local theater group is set for their fall performance “Flavio Betrayed: A Commedia.” The play will show on October 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, and 18. The cost of admission is $15 a ticket and parking is free.

The Cokato Museum still has its toy display up. They are setting up the display of the bottling companies that were located here in Cokato. There are a number of bottles, companies and owners dating from the 1890s. The museum has a list of owners and names of the companies.

Memories are good reminders of how much we had when we were young. Remember you can find us on Facebook and online.
